In Pursuit of Peace of Mind

Ever wonder of no matter how many times you’ve been trying to attain that so-called “peace of mind”& the outcome you weren’t quite make it?

You read a lot of self help books & any tips related to it. Tried withdrawing yourself away from the crowd & urbanize place. Tried to take vacation in a place were you thought would be helpful. But still the result after several attempt, you still ended up easily got irritated, whined, confused, and even worst, freaked out to anybody that gets at you.

Then, somehow you attempt to control anybody that surrounds you, your environment, and even your own feelings. Duh! There's something piece is missing here.

Directing and interfering; of one's life, of somebody's action, & of the circumstances of events, is an alteration of the reality & somewhat like an abortions. This kind of attempt can be best described as an "illusion" or ignorance from the reality. I presumed, most of us think that we are not deluded thus we don't spare time to cogitate our own mind if we are still attuning with the reality. My point of this matter is it's nothing about controlling something. It's about understanding how-things-work. It's understanding reality.

Presumably, the reason why most of the meditation practitioners they keep themselves expose to nature because nature itself is the reflection of reality. It is in its likeness as how-things-work.

Have you ever gone into the river? If you've been there...try to imagine putting a big stone at the center of the flow? Does the water stops? Naturally, it finds its own way. Because what is best for the river is to keeps it flowing. It's the nature of a river to keep flowing and it's also the nature of the big stone to be drowning & settles itself to the ground.

I would like to share with you below my favorite story about the monk that relates with the nature of things;

Two monks were washing their bowls in the river when they noticed a scorpion that was drowning. One monk immediately scooped it up and set it upon the bank. In the process he was stung. He went back to washing his bowl and again the scorpion fell in. The monk saved the scorpion and was again stung. The other monk asked him, "Friend, why do you continue to save the scorpion when you know its nature is to sting?"

"Because," the monk replied, "to save it is my nature."

It's by understanding how things work we begun to accept the nature of something... the nature of our self.

That's why I emphasize in my previous articles the questioning of the mind. That whatever thinking & labels that we put to our self, it is just the product & the experience of the mind but it is not the original nature of you; the "original self", the "big mind", the "true self", the "universal self", as for Christians they call it - the "Human Soul", the ‘Spirit"...

Understanding our own self, relates with understanding of the other people. And to know how other people behave takes intelligence, but to know our true self takes wisdom.

Please, do not be amiss, I'm not teaching psychology here. I'm sharing an experience, an experience which evokes peacefulness of the mind. And when this experience will be transformed, the cosmos plane will benefit out of it.

If we are content with what we have, we can live simply and enjoy both prosperity and free time. If our goals are clear, we can achieve them without agitation. If we are at peace with ourselves, we will not spend our life force in conflicts. We will go with the flow as how the river flows. When we learned to let go, we do not need to fear loosing.

Stay at the "center", it is the place where nothing is happening, but it is from there that everything starts & everything absorbs. Like the "Hub" of a wheel, it is the space of the center that where the shaft passes & the reason as why the wheel rotates.

Get acquainted with the true & essence of your deep "Self" and you'll be getting acquitted with the minds of ancient's sages, such as; Jesus, Plato, Confucius, Lau Tzu, and suchlike with brilliant minds & self. They are those who achieve more than just a Peace -of-Mind but also attained Enlightenment.

Now... Want to achieve that peace of mind? So, ponder and answer any of these questions below;

o What was your original face before your parents were born?...

o What is your original mind?...

o What is your true nature?...

A martial arts student went to his teacher and said earnestly, "I am devoted to studying your martial system. How long will it take me to master it." The teacher's reply was casual, "Ten years." Impatiently, the student answered, "But I want to master it faster than that. I will work very hard. I will practice everyday, ten or more hours a day if I have to. How long will it take then?" The teacher thought for a moment, "20 years."
